kilindibensessaIn this episode, Jonathan talks with fellow Michigander, Kilindi Iyi. Born and raised in Detroit, Kilindi is the head instructor and technical adviser of Tamerrian Martial Art Institute. A world traveler and mycologist, Kilindi has presented on the subject of psilocybin as far north as Norway and as far south as Australia. His exploration and research centers on high-dose psilocybin magic mushrooms. Kilindi shares information gleaned from many excursions into the hyper-dimensional and inter-dimensional realms through his direct experience with dosages in the 20 thru 30 dried gram range of mushroom ingestion. Kilindi remains a student, teacher, and advocate for the hallucinogenic experience. Jonathan and Kilindi met at Psychedemia in 2012, and have appeared together at many conferences around the USA and the world. They are currently both speaking at Beyond Psychedelics in Prague.

Join Jonathan and Kilindi as they talk about the role of mushrooms in the secret history of martial arts, about the lessons Kilindi has learned form his 40+ years of symbiosis with the mushrooms, and about why he prefers the title “explorer” over “shaman,” “medicine man,” or “healer.” Also discussed is the upcoming Detroit Psychedelic Conference, October 28-30 at the historic First Unitarian Church of Detroit on Cass.

New Intro Music!

We’re VERY excited to debut the new intro and outro music for the Psychedelic Parenting Podcast. Both pieces of music are excerpts from a song by our friend and past guest Danny Litin, who perfoms under the name Tögal The song is called “Gather.” Jonathan cut this music and added some interesting effects and quotes by Terence McKenna and Timothy Leary. The intro is called “Gather the Breath, Gather the Children, Gather the Others,” and the outro is called “Gather What is Real.” We hope you like them, and we thank Danny for his generous donation of this new music!

EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS:

PP: What has your martial arts training taught you about being a parent?

KI: Martial arts is not just about punching and kicking, it’s an all-inclusive lifestyle based on warrior understanding and being able to deal with whatever is thrown at you, from whatever direction. And that goes into, of course, protecting your most precious relationships, your family.  It teaches you how to get in front of that which would be harmful to your children, to protect them. It’s also about giving them the right education to live in the world.
